The WWYP Approach:
Health is a multifaceted entity, and it needs to be addressed as such. A multidisciplinary approach is a belief of ours, and addressing the “human” patient is key for our success. BUT, in order to be able to do so, we need to be able to look at ourselves, as human health professionals, first.
The WWYP Approach in patient education and counseling was developed in order to bring the best out of both the patient and the Health professional during their meetings, and lead to the most desirable results.
With more than 20 years involvement in patient education and experience worldwide, our aim is not only to educate, but also to motivate and guide through.
A counseling session cannot be complete with passing on information alone. A better relationship between Health professional and Patient, a more involved patient in the process and in the decision making, is something that we seek.
The WWYP approach was first put together in 2009, and presented for the first time in Paris in 2010. Many workshops and talks followed, and statistics steadily showed its positive effect. Even though mentioned in the media many times through interviews, the first official publication in a medical journal came out in early 2018, as an editorial no less (below), validating its place in the field.
The Workshops:
The workshops provide a systematic learning, but also an experiential didactic experience for the participants. They result in breakthroughs and a change in perception regarding patient approach. Learning how to diagnose the patient and not just the disease.
